Social media news on arms found in house is false: MoI

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9: The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency has denied what has been posted on the social media. According to what has been posted on the website a large cache or arms was found in a house under construction in the suburb of Fahd Al-Ahmad. The ministry said these images of weapons have been fabricated and edited and therefore unreal.

In fact, the statement said a pistol was found in a house under construction a week ago and was handed over to the Criminal and Security Division of the Interior Ministry. The ministry has called on all those using social media network sites to be responsible for what they post, particularly false news and incorrect images saying the Public Relations and Security Information Directorate-General is open to answer all queries.

However, the Al-Anba daily said police are looking for an unidentified person for dumping arms and ammunition in the compound of a house in Fahd Al-Ahmad. According to the daily when the owner of the house informed the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior, police rushed to the spot and found 11 magazines with bullets, a pistol and a box filled with bullets. Police have lifted fingerprints from the contraband in an attempt to identify the person.
