KUWAIT CITY, May 30: Six Indian expatriates were arrested for running an illegal liquor factory in Qosur area. According to security sources, when Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa received information about a group of individuals using an apartment in Qosur area to manufacture liquor, he formed a security team for investigations.

After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, securitymen raided the apartment and confiscated 135 barrels and 110 bottles of locally manufactured liquor and equipments used for manufacturing liquor. They arrested six Indian expatriates who were inside the apartment and referred them with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

Meanwhile, an Asian man was arrested in Farwaniya with 30 bottles of local alcohol in his possession. While patrolling the area, a security team noticed the Asian walking late at night carrying a nylon bag and he tried to run upon sensing police presence.

The officers chased him until he was arrested and this led to the discovery that the bag contained 30 bottles of local alcohol ready for sale. The Asian was referred to the concerned security department for legal action. In another incident, an Indian was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh because he was under the influence of alcohol.
