Security Campaigns During Ramadan Lead to Arrest of Eleven Beggars and Street Vendors

KUWAIT CITY, March 31: During the holy month of Ramadan, the Department of Protection of Public Morals and Combating Trafficking in Persons, which is part of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, has been conducting extensive security campaigns to crack down on beggars and street vendors. As a result, eleven individuals of various nationalities have been arrested on charges related to these activities. These individuals have been handed over to the appropriate authorities to face legal action.
The department urges the public to cooperate with security personnel by reporting any instances of begging. To do so, individuals can call any of the following phone numbers: 97288211, 97288200, 25582581, 25582582. Alternatively, they can use the emergency number 112, which is available 24 hours a day to receive reports.
