‘Salaries of Indian labourers transferred to bank accounts’ – Al-Sabeeh coordinates with embassy, MEW

KUWAIT CITY, March 29: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh revealed that the salaries of Indian laborers who are working for a company under contract with Ministry of Electricity and Water have been transferred to their bank accounts, reports Al-Rai daily. She said she had coordinated with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait and Ministry of Electricity and Water in this regard, as the salaries of those laborers were delayed for eight months.

Direct Aid Society launched Wednesday a relief aid campaign for Somalia, through its local branches and electronic media sites, in order to combat famine that threatens the lives of Somali people. The campaign aims at collecting KD 500,000 (around $1.65 million) for digging big water wells at Somali villages to meet their needs for at least 10 years.

The first stage of this campaign collected KD 300,000 (around $900,000) to deliver 15,000 food baskets for about 90,000 Somalis. The second stage gathered KD 200,000 (around $660,000) to build eight health centers
