KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: A licensed camping site is considered a private residence and it can be accessed only after obtaining permission from the Public Prosecution, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a source from the Spring Camps Committee at Kuwait Municipality. According to the source, the above-mentioned task is outside the Municipality’s jurisdiction; indicating the public does not know this, hence, the need to inform them.

He also suggested the formation of several inspection teams, similar to the tripartite and quadruple committees formed by the Council of Ministers; provided these committees report directly to the Spring Camps Committee. He stressed the importance of informing the owners of camping sites about the need to monitor gatherings, parties and other events held in camping sites; especially since there are no joint inspection teams between the relevant authorities, as each authority works within the limits of its regulations.

He underscored the need to further toughen penalties on anyone who circumvents health regulations by holding parties and other events in camping sites; considering the Municipality has been working hard to address violations. He added the insurance fee has been reduced, so everyone can obtain a camping permit.
