Power abused in graft charges
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27, (KUNA): Former and current officials and academics at the Ministry of Health and Kuwait University (KU) were referred to the public prosecution on corruption charges, said an official at the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Thursday.
In a press release, Dr Mohammad Bouzuber, Nazaha’s Assistant Secretary- General for Investigations and Nazaha’s spokesman, said that the charges involved the said officials’ abuse of power and finances, in addition to suspicion of forgery.
The referral was carried out after extensive investigation in the matter, said the official who affirmed that witnesses to the violations would be protected by Nazaha according to the law. The public prosecution will look into the chargers and issue suitable verdicts, said Dr. Bouzuber.
