MOI calls on Kuwaitis and expats to adhere to the decision to ban weddings and banquets

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 18: The Ministry of the Interior called on Kuwaiti citizens and expats to adhere to Ministerial Resolution No. 64 of 2020 issued by the Ministry of Health, which prohibits the holding of gathering including wedding parties which are held in a public or private place, including private housing, preventing banquets, receptions and others.

Sources further stated that the Ministry of Interior said will not hesitate or tolerate the implementation of the precautionary measures issued by the health authorities to confront coronavirus stated in Law No. 8 of 1996 which states about precautions to prevent communicable diseases and its amendments to punish the perpetrator with imprisonment for a period not exceeding 3 months and a fine of no less than 50KD and not exceeding 200KD, or one of these two penalties.

The Ministry of the Interior renewed its call to ban gatherings and to stay in houses and support government efforts to combat the emerging epidemic of the Corona virus.
