Ministry indicates priority for appointment

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: The Ministry of Education has announced that it will start receiving applications for male and female teachers on local contracts from non-Kuwaitis to work in the teaching sector during the 2021/2022 academic year, reports Al-Qabas daily. The ministry explained that the applicants must have university qualifications to work in public schools in the disciplines of English, French, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and geology, physics, and music education (female teachers only). The applicants must adhere to the experience condition for all subjects except music education. The required years of experience is three years for those with non-educational qualifications and two years for those with educational qualifications. Exceptions will be made from the experience requirement for holders of a doctorate degree and those who have obtained a grade of at least “Very good” in university qualifications, holders of master’s degree and have obtained an average of not less than “excellent” in the university qualification, as well as graduates of the College of Education from Kuwait University and graduates of the College of Basic Education in the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training

Priority
The Ministry of Education indicated that the priority for appointment, after the acceptance of all Kuwaitis in the disciplines required for the outputs of the local teacher preparation colleges, will be for the children of Kuwaiti women, then the children of Bedoun residents, the children of citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, and then expatriates. It said, “To accept the appointment of fresh non-Kuwaiti graduates from teaching colleges, it is required to pass the personal interview. No case or specialization is excluded from this. No application for employment will be received until all documents are available according to the announcement”.

Approval
The Ministry of Education went on to explain that the applications of visit visa or entry visa holders will not be accepted. The educational qualification and profession in the work permit must not be different from the position applied for, which is “Teacher” position. Preliminary approval is also required for those from private schools by the sponsor in addition to a copy of signature approval of the sponsor, and the equivalency of the certificates from private universities by the Supreme Council of Private Universities. When receiving applications, the academic qualifications and transcripts must be certified by the official authorities, and the validity of the data from the cultural offices of Kuwait in the country of graduation. Original copy of the certificate, the transcript and a statement of regularity, certified by the Kuwaiti Cultural Attaché for the certificate issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, must also be brought.

The announcement also stated that, when citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states apply for a job at the Ministry of Education, the passport and civil ID of the applicant must be brought along with a 4/6 cm photograph, adding that all documents must be valid. It highlighted that, when expatriates apply to work in the Ministry of Education, they must bring their passport and a copy of it, as well as their civil ID and a copy of it, adding that the passport’s validity period should not be less than two years. The Ministry of Education affirmed that all applications must be submitted electronically on the ministry’s website — www.moe. edu.kw. Upon acceptance of the application, the concerned person will be contacted to visit the Human Resources Department at the reception hall in the Ministry’s building in South Surra, with the documents mentioned above. Personal interviews will be conducted for the candidates in accordance with the conditions in force in the ministry.
