Man in elevator wins compensation

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 16: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which obliged an insurance company to pay KD 59,000 to an Arab expatriate as compensation for the injuries he sustained after an elevator in a company fell resulting in the death of a number of workers and injuries to many others.

According to the lawsuit filed by the expatriate via his defense counsel Lawyer Ali Al-Wawan, he demanded that the insurance company pay him compensation for the bodily injuries and the material and moral damages he sustained due to the incident.

He was injured in his right leg, which required surgical intervention, and he also suffered a laceration of the right kidney with blood gathering around his liver and kidney, in addition to skull injuries.
