KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: Ahmadi securitymen arrested two Asian women in Mangaf for the possession of 11 bottles of local liquor. While patrolling the area, the officers got suspicious when they noticed the two women carrying a carton of water so they requested for their identification documents. This was followed by a thorough search into the carton which turned out to be filled with bottles of local liquor ready for sale. A case was registered and the two women were referred to the concerned security unit for legal action.
Meanwhile, a Sri Lankan housemaid sustained serious injuries and fractures when she fell while trying to escape from her sponsor’s house using bed sheets to climb down the building, reports Al-Anba daily. Reportedly, the rope made with the bed sheets came apart, causing the woman to fall. She was rushed to the nearest hospital where she has been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit in a serious condition. Investigations have been launched to determine the reason behind her need to escape.
Liquor seized: Farwaniya securitymen arrested a Kuwaiti citizen in Rabiya area in possession of 23 bottles of imported liquor and an unspecified sum. A security source said patrolmen on regular duty stopped the citizen for questioning and noticed several boxes inside his vehicle. They went ahead to check the boxes and uncovered that they contained liquor. During questioning, he confessed peddling in imported alcohol. He also declared the proceeds from liquor trade when the officers asked about the source of huge cash in his possession. He was referred to the concerned authority. Meanwhile, an unidentified Kuwaiti who was found in possession of two sachets of heroin and cigarettes filled with hashish, has been handed over to the General Department for Durgs Control, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, he was caught by the Ahmadi police during routine patrolling in Al-Abu Halifa.
Bootlegger Nabbed: The Farwaniya police have arrested an Asian for bootlegging, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the suspect was caught in Riqqa with 70 bottles of locally-made booze. The contraband and the suspect have been handed over to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control.
