ABU DHABI, Oct 31: The UAE Sunday called on its citizens currently present in Lebanon to leave the country and return home as soon as possible, out of keenness on following up the situation of its overseas nationals and ensuring their safety. Due to the ongoing incidents and in line with the decision of preventing UAE’s people from travelling to Lebanon, UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called on its nationals in Lebanon to return home very soon, the ministry said in a press release carried by UAE News Agency (WAM). Preventing the Emiratis from travelling to Lebanon coincided with the decision taken by the country on withdrawing UAE’s diplomats from Lebanon, it added.

Being keen on following up the situation of nationals abroad and ensuring their safety, the ministry took all required measures to facilitate the return of the citizens from Lebanon, the Ministry’s Undersecretary Khalid Belhoul said, according to the statement. The ministry is get ready to harness all potentials to assist any citizen in Lebanon, he affirmed, appealing to the Emiratis in Lebanon to contact the ministry’s call center.

The decision of withdrawing UAE’s diplomats from Lebanon came in solidarity with Saudi Arabia, in light of the “unacceptable approach” of some Lebanese officials towards the Kingdom, UAE Minister of State Khalifa Al-Marar said Saturday in a statement carried by WAM. (KUNA)
