A woman who accompanied her daughter on a treatment trip to Paris, France, was allegedly stabbed in the head and shoulder by her bedoun husband over a family dispute, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to informed sources, the wife left for Paris with her bedoun husband, an employee of the Ministry of Defense to treat their six-year-old special needs daughter, but a dispute between them happened and the suspect stabbed her with a knife.
The sources added the husband was arrested and detained at a local police station in Paris for one month and then referred to the court. The sources added, the wife was hospitalized and the child was taken care of by a Kuwaiti family in Paris and then handed over to her relatives.
The Department of Overseas Treatment affiliated to the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait said the military attaché at the Kuwait embassy followed up the incident and the case was handed over to the Kuwaiti consulate to follow up the case with the French authorities.
The sources said the incident is an individual case and can happen anywhere in any country. However, the sources called on people who apply for overseas treatment to respect the laws of the land.
