Kuwaiti Sponsor probed for allegedly beating Filipino maid to death

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been detained for interrogation for allegedly beating to death his Filipino maid, reports Al-Rai daily. As soon as the Operations Room of Interior Ministry received the information from the sponsor about the death, the Farwaniya police and paramedics rushed to the location and found the victim dead on the floor.

The corpse bore injuries on the body and head and when the police asked the Kuwaiti, he said, she just fell down and died.

When the Public Prosecution was informed of the incident, instructions were issued to arrest the man because a post mortem report showed she died of severe beating. During the initial investigation the sponsor admitted that she was careless with his children and tried to intoxicate them several times.

Murder suspected: The remains of an Asian, who was found dead in Abdullah Al-Mubarak, have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Anba daily. Police have not ruled out murder because the corpse bears torture marks. Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, the corpse of an Asian which was found inside the toilet of a mosque in Al-Sadek has been handed over to the Criminal Evidences Department, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The victim reported died inside the toilet after he had apparently shut the door from inside. Police sought the help of firemen from the Sabhan Fire Center. The man was slumped on the fl oor. The investigation is underway to identify the cause of death.
