KUWAIT CITY, April 25: A Kuwaiti citizen, who is wanted by law for drug related cases, assaulted a police officer and broke his nose, and started a fire while in custody in West Sulaibikhat Police Station, which resulted in two police officers suffering from smoke inhalation,says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, when the suspect’s father, who is a popular artiste, called police officers to say his “troublemaker” son is creating problems inside the house, a team of officers rushed to the location.

In front of the house, the suspect attacked one of the police officers, resulting in breaking the nose of the latter. The suspect was arrested and referred to West Sulaibikhat Police Station where a case was filed against him.

While in police custody, the suspect started a fire, which raised heavy smoke throughout the police station.

This resulted in two police officers suffering from smoke inhalation who were referred to the nearest hospital for treatment. Firefighters were summoned to the police station, and they extinguished the fire.

Necessary steps were taken to refer the suspect to the Public Prosecution for further investigations.
