Kuwait Municipality ends contracts of 10 expats; MoJ axes 30 non-Kuwaitis

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 5: Kuwait Municipality Director General, Eng. Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, has terminated the services of 4 expatriate consultants working in the legal department, 4 legal researchers, and 2 senior law specialists, reports Al-Rai daily.

Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Omar Al-Sharqawi, has issued decisions to terminate the services of 30 non-Kuwaiti employees (first batch) in preparation to replace them with Kuwaitis as per the laws laid down by the Civil Service Commission for Kuwaitization of jobs, reports Al- Qabas daily.

In a statement, the ministry stated that the Minister of Justice, Minister of State for Integrity Affairs and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Jamal Al- Jalawi, said this is being done according to the plan to Kuwaitize the jobs in the Ministry of Justice. The statement indicated that the minister’s directives issued to the undersecretary includes quick decision to terminate contracts of non-Kuwaiti employees – jobs covered by the replacement policy as stipulated in the CSC Resolution No. 11 of 2017 for Kuwaitization of government jobs
