Kuwait Ministry Bans Imams from Using Phones for Reading Qur’an During Prayers

KUWAIT CITY, April 1: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs prohibited imams of Kuwaiti mosques from reading from the Qur’an from the phone while performing the obligatory prayers, reports Al-Rai daily. It called on the imams to visit the archives of the Holy Qur’an well before performing Tarawih and Qiyam prayers, and to read from memorization as much as possible, with attention to the advocacy and guiding role of the imam.

In a circular issued by the Assistant Undersecretary for Mosques Affairs, Salah Al-Shilahi, for the benefit of the imams regarding Tarawih prayers and the activities of the blessed month of Ramadan, he called on them to perform their role assigned to them in the holy month, and to make every effort to fulfill the message of the mosque.
