KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: Kuwait has invited President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte to visit the country, says Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque. In a report published Thursday by globalnation.inquirer. net, Roque was quoted as saying that the visit was supposed to be “confidential” but Duterte mentioned it in his speech at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday.
Roque said in a briefing at the palace, “I guess Kuwait wants to assure the President that Philippine nationals are reprotected in Kuwait.” Earlier on Wednesday, news.abscbn. com reported that Duterte met Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Philippines Saleh Ahmad Al Thwaikh amid controversies surrounding the ban on deployment of Filipino workers to Kuwait.
