KUWAIT CITY, May 28: Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mansour Al-Otaibi stated Sunday that the door is still open for negotiations with the Philippines over a special agreement on hiring domestic workers.
“First, The Philippines’ embassy in Kuwait has to admit that it had violated Kuwaiti laws and the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, stop these violations and promise not to repeat them,” Al-Otaibi told reporters on the sidelines of his participation in a ceremony held by the Azeri embassy in Kuwait to celebrate the national day.

Al-Otaibi added that when these practices are halted and a promise is made, negotiations over the agreement can be resumed. In the meantime, he congratulated Azerbaijani government and people on their national day. He lauded the Kuwaiti-Azerbaijani relations, noting that the two countries seek to upgrade mutual cooperation in all domains. He pointed out that Kuwaiti- Azerbaijani diplomatic relations date back to 1994 (KUNA)
