KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced recently the U-125 petroleum gas processing plant at Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery has become operational, the first unit within the environmental fuel project to be operated there.

In statement to KUNA, the KNPC’s executive vice president for projects and spokesman Abdullah Al-Ajmi said that the new unit will process the liquefied gas produced by the automotive fuel unit in addition to producing a quantity of thermal furnace fuel used in many refinery units.

Al-Ajmi noted that the production capacity of the unit is 2264 barrels per day, indicating that it is located in the first area of the refinery between several old and modern units and is closely linked to the improvement of the quality of the car fuel product in neighboring units. He stressed that it will contribute to reduce olefins by up to 100 parts per million final product instead of 2 percent in the previous unit, praising the efforts of teams that have succeeded in ensuring the safe operation of this unit.
