KFSD shuts down 5 installations in violation

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Fire Prevention Sector of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) closed down five installations based on a decision issued by the Director General of KFSD Lieutenant General Khaled Al- Mekrad, after warnings were issued to the owners of these installations about violations of fire-safety regulations.

Meanwhile, KFSD organized a marine rescue course for a number of police officers and warrant officers of the National Guard in the Marine Rescue Center from June 9 to July 17.

These officers were given theory and practical training on marine search and rescue operations. And, firemen from Al-Hilali and Madina fire stations yesterday evening controlled a fire that broke out in a room at the basement of a tower in Sharq area covering an area of 50 square/ meters, and prevented it from spreading to neighboring structures, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Security and medical emergency personnel were present at the scene to support the operation. The source of fire wasn’t immediately known but a case has since been registered for investigation. No casualties were reported.
