KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: The Embassy of India in Kuwait organized an event under the title ‘Consultations with Stakeholders in the Tourism Sector’ at the embassy premises, says a press release issued by the embassy. During the event the Ambassador of India to Kuwait HE Sibi George addressed the tour operators, travel agents and planners in Kuwait and briefed them about the opening up of tourist visas to India. He highlighted the potential of India as a post COVID-19 tourism destination for any Kuwaiti traveler seeking nature, adventure, and culture or wellness. He invited Kuwaitis to visit India and to lure the tourists the ambassador highlighted the diverse tourism destinations in India, such as Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Kerala etc through short video documentaries.

He added, India has announced the opening of tourism visas for foreigners travelling on charter fl ights to India as of October 15, 2021. Tourist visa for passengers travelling on other fl ights will also be issued beginning November 15, 2021. In 2019, the ambassador said, 10.93 million foreign tourists visited India, which saw a growth of 3.5% over previous year. He went on to say India is now ready to welcome tourists from all over the world, after the break induced by COVID-19 for over 18 months. The event was attended by a big number of major tour operators in Kuwait.
