HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah takes the constitutional oath before the National Assembly as Amir of Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 30: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah took the constitutional oath in the special session of the National Assembly, in accordance with Article 60 of the constitution.
His Highness said in the sublime pronouncement, “I swear by God Almighty to respect the constitution and the laws of the state and defend the people’s freedoms, interests and finance, and safeguard the nation’s independence and territorial integrity.”

According to Article 60 of the constitution, “the Amir before exercising his powers, shall took the oath in a special session of the National Assembly.”

Yesterday, the Amiri Diwan mourned with great sadness and sorrow to the Kuwaiti people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and to the friendly nations the death of the late His Highness, the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
