‘Hajj & Umrah’ visa fees remain: Riyadh

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has no intention to cancel fees for Hajj and Umrah visas, reports Al-Anba daily quoting Saudi diplomatic sources.

This came after the proliferation of advertisements mentioning the visa fee waiver, uploaded by several Umrah and Hajj caravans on social networking sites and certain commercial platforms.

Sources confirmed the visa fees remain in effect, clarifying only those who will perform the ritual for the first time are exempted because the Saudi government will shoulder the fees Sources said those who already went on pilgrimage earlier must pay 2,000 Saudi riyals for the visa.

Sources advised the public to verify reports published on social networking sites and other platforms, affirming the Embassy of Saudi Arabia provides accurate information.
