KUWAIT CITY, Apr 23: During routine survey it was found high mortality of fish in Kuwait bay. The Environment Public Authority surveyed the beaches of Sulaibikhat where a large number of Catfish (Arius Thalassinus) were found dead on the coast.

The analysis showed that Navicula spp. which uses photosynthesis, phytoplankton to convert sunlight and CO2 into sugars as it is used as nourishment, emitting oxygen as a waste product and it belongs to the diatom group of algae had increased. This may have caused fish a breathing problem.

Environment Public Authority will complete field surveys in the coming days on the coasts of Kuwait Bay
