Thousands of worshippers thronged different mosques across the country to spend the second night of the last ten nights of the holy month of Ramadan in ‘Tahajjud’ (prayers and remembrance of God). Amid tight security measures at the Grand Mosque, devotees were led in prayers by Sheikh Fahad Al-Kandari and Fahad Al-Mutairi.

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced that the Eid Al-Fitr prayers for this year will be held inside mosques where Friday prayers (Jumah) are usually held. The ministry has been coordinating with Ministry of Interior in that regard, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting informed sources.

They revealed that the Eid prayers will be held inside those mosques which will be provided with all necessary items required for the comfort of the worshippers, as in the past, as well as their safety and security, warning against organizing Eid prayers in open spaces.

The sources affirmed that security operatives from Ministry of Interior and other relevant authorities will provide mosques with required security and will deal with violators appropriately. They said, “It will be recalled that the ministry made the same decision last year due to security intelligence”.
