Dying for love; ‘Don’t want babies’

KUWAIT CITY, July 8: A young man who is believed to be in his 20s has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital 20s after he jumped from the balcony of the house of his girlfriend in Hawalli in a vain attempt to end his life, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said this happened when the girl’s father refused to allow the young man to marry his daughter. He went to the girl’s house carrying a Kalashnikov rifle allegedly to frighten the father, but instead attempted to end his life. He will be interrogated when his condition gets better.

‘Don’t want babies’: A Kuwaiti who mercilessly beat his wife because she was taking contraceptives without his knowledge has been admitted to the Farwaniya Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily. The man told police the wife wanted to postpone pregnancy because she is still young and not ready to give birth. A case has been registered at the area police station.
