Drugs flood streets

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: A GCC national was arrested in possession of “Chemical” drugs in Jahra area. According to security sources, Jahra securitymen were at a security checkpoint when they suspected a vehicle and ordered the driver to stop. They checked his details and discovered he is a GCC national. When they checked the details of his vehicle, they discovered that the number plate belonged to another vehicle. They then searched his vehicle and found a bag containing the abovementioned drugs. Securitymen arrested him and referred him with the contraband to the concerned authorities for necessary legal measures.

Drugs with trucker: A Syrian truck driver was arrested at Abdali border checkpoint for attempting to smuggle narcotic pills. According to security sources, Abdali border customs officers were checking the trucks that had arrived from Iraq when they suspected one of the trucks and ordered the driver to stop. However, the driver jumped out of the trunk and tried to run away but he was caught. Officers checked him and the truck to find the hidden narcotic pills. They checked his details and discovered he is a Syrian national. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, an Indian expatriate was arrested at Kuwait International Airport in possession of 50 grams of drugs that he had hidden inside his bag.

Addicts nabbed: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested for consuming drugs and sleeping in their car in front of a restaurant in Ardiya Industrial Area. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about two disoriented citizens, Farwaniya securitymen rushed to the location and found the duo sleeping in the vehicle under the infl uence of drugs. After a thorough search, securitymen discovered drugs and drugs paraphernalia in their possession. The suspects were arrested and referred with the contraband to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal measures.
