‘Drifters’ held, cars impounded

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: The Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry said personnel of the General Traffic Department (GTD) have impounded a number of vehicles belonging to the reckless motorists who organize illegal races and make stunts on roads, reports Al-Rai daily.

The administration stated the reckless motorists escape from the scene each time police patrols after receiving information and escape with their vehicles and hide them in desert areas behind sand dunes or in deserted areas. However, this time around the police patrols laid an ambush for them and caught them on the wrong foot and arrested them and seized their vehicles and towed them to the ministry garage.

The Traffic and Operations Sector has called on citizens and residents to report reckless acts to the ministry’s emergency phone 112 or send complaints to the WhatsApp No 99324092
