Disappointing start for Kuwait in 2023 Asian Cup

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 8: The Kuwait national team continued its setbacks and lost its opening match against Indonesia 1-2 in  the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers held in Kuwait, Czech coach Lavika and his players had a bad start against Indonesia who missed opportunities that almost doubled the result.

Youssef Nasser scored Kuwait’s only goal by heading the ball from Badr Al Mutawa’s pass in 39th minute. Marc Antonio of Indonesia equalized through a penalty in 43rd minute. Due to the poor defense of Kuwait team at the beginning of the second half, the Indonesian Rashmad Arento managed to add the second goal after he snatched the ball and shot it into the goal in 45th minute. Kuwait team wasted precious chances to get back into the game.
