DGCA underlines importance of co-op in developing Middle Eastern civil aviation

Directorate-General of Civil Aviation’s affiliation transferred

Part of the participation of the delegation of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of Kuwait in the 6th meeting of directors general of civil aviation in the Middle East, held in Abu Dhabi. (KUNA)

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1, (Agencies): Directorate General of Civil Aviation Chief Yousef Al-Fouzan underlined Tuesday importance of cooperation between International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and civil aviation bodies in the region, to further develop the sector. This came in Al-Fouzan’s statement on sideline of participating in sixth meeting between civil aviation general directors of the Middle East, taking place in Abu Dhabi.

Bolstering
The three-day meeting, he mentioned, will examine civil aviation issues, topics of common interest, and modes of bolstering and facilitating cooperation in the area. The event, hosted by Emirati civil aviation directorate alongside the regional office of ICAO, is considered quite significant as it is an opportunity to discuss future plans relating to this vital sector.

Meanwhile, the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation announced its affiliation has now been transferred to the Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Urban Development Ammar Al-Ajmi, reports Al- Qabas daily.

The sources added Minister Al-Ajmi now supervises the affairs of Kuwait International Airport and when he visited the administration building, he was briefed on the current and future projects at the airport. It has been reported that the minister talked about the necessity of making progress during the next stage and setting a road map in order to improve services for passengers and raise operating efficiency.
