‘Development of armed forces with knowledge’

KUWAIT CITY, April 24: Development of the armed forces will be attainable through dependence on “our faithful children who are armed with science and knowledge,” said First Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Friday. The minister, during an inspection of “Wajeb Force” (Sabah) for congratulations on Eid Al-Fitr, expressed satisfaction with capacities and vigilance of the personnel who have been executing their tasks in cooperation with the Interior Ministry personnel, safeguarding the the country’s security, the land and sea borders in the north. He conveyed to the troops greetings from His Highness the Amir and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the eid occasion.

Their Highnesses the Amir and the Crown Prince admire the heroic role of the army troops for defending the homeland, its security, safety and territorial integrity, he said in his address to the forces. He urged the troops to pursue their service for the homeland and wished return of the happy occasion under the sagacious leadership of His Highness the Amir and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and His Highness the Crown Prince. First Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah confirmed Friday the keenness of the political leadership to provide the latest technologies to achieve the integrated security system in the country.

Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled said, according to a statement from the General Directorate of Security Relations and Media, during his visit to the northern border Khabari Al-Awazem center, that the security institution’s strategy stems from permanent development, continuous training, and the use of technology to control and monitor borders. He conveyed to the border security men the greetings and congratulations of the political leadership on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, commending their constant vigilance to serve the country and maintain its security and stability, pointing out that border security and safety are a priority in the comprehensive security system.

During the visit, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled listened to a brief explanation of the radar system and the response to smuggling and infiltration attempts. Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled was received during his visit to the northern border by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Anwar Al- Barjas, and several senior security leaders. Meanwhile, the National Guards Undersecretary Lieutenant General Hashim Al-Rifaee on Friday lauded role of the battalion for protection of key State installations. The undersecretary praised the personnel during an inspection of the squad to express his congratulations on Eid Al-Fitr. During the visit, he conveyed felicitations from His Highness Chief of the National Guards Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah and Deputy Chief of the National Guards Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. He stressed on the necessity to remain vigilant, adhere to the commanders’ instructions and perform their duties in the best way possible. (KUNA)
