NEW DELHI, Aug 2: India said on Sunday coronavirus cases climbed by 54,735 to over 1.75 million nationwide.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare revealed in its update that the death toll from COVID-19 rose by 853 to 37,364.
Ministry data showed that over 1.14 million people have recovered from the deadly pandemic as it has hit all Indian states and union territories but one.

The recovery rate amongst COVID-19 patients is 65.44 percent while the fatality rate is 2.13 percent, the data showed.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, West Bengal and Rajasthan are the worst affected states.
The government recently issued fresh guidlines for the third phase of reopening, which came into into force yesterday, relaxing lockdown restrictions in areas outside of containment zones.
Night curfews have been removed and the movement of people and goods has been allowed once more across the country.
Meanwhile, public transport, cinemas, swimming pools, entertainment parks, bars, theatres, auditoriums and other social gathering venues remain shut.
Furthermore, large gatherings and social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural and religious functions are not be permitted under the guidelines (KUNA)
