KUWAIT CITY, Sep 21: The Council of Ministers held its weekly meeting this afternoon via video conferencing headed by His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, and after the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Khaled Nasser Al-Saleh

The Council of Ministers extended its sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir on the occasion of his awarding the Medal (Military Merit with the rank of Commander in Chief) by His Excellency President Donald Trump, President of the friendly United States of America.

The Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Hammoud Al-Sabah briefed about the latest developments, statistics and data related to the numbers of infections and health situation in the country, the recoveries have reached to 91%.

The Cabinet renewed its call for all citizens and expats to adhere to health instructions and adhere to wearing masks, social distancing, and avoiding gatherings and contact that result in the spread of infection, in order to preserve the health of society and the safety of everyone.

The Minister of Education Dr. Saud Hilal Al-Harbi presented a report to the Council of Ministers on the results of the general secondary examinations in their scientific and literary sections for the academic year 2019-2020, which came in exceptional and unprecedented circumstances due to the new Corona pandemic that swept the whole world.

Then the Council of Ministers discussed the affairs of the National Assembly and examined the topics contained for interrogation presented to His Highness the Prime Minister from each of the MPs Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Kandari and Al-Hamidi Al-Subaie, who are scheduled for discussion in the National Assembly session scheduled to be held on Tuesday.

Its support for all efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that guarantees for the Palestinian people an end to the occupation, the return of refugees, and the establishment of their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the borders of June 4, 1967, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative and the two-state solution.
