Blaze at Salmi tires’ dumpsite ‘deliberate’

KUWAIT CITY, June 3, (Agencies): Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) announced Saturday that the blaze that erupted at the used tires’ dumping site in Al-Salmi area Friday was “deliberate”. The investigation teams completed technical examination and interrogated eyewitnesses about the fire that erupted at the dumping site on an area of 4,000 sq m, the KFF said in a statement issued by its media and public relations department.

Wind speed contributed to fuelling the fire at the tires in the area that was extinguished by the KFF firefighters, it added. After checking the site of the fire, neither electrical nor thermal sources have been found, it said, indicating that the results of the probe said that the fire was caused by a “deliberate” act.
