Bangladeshi caught trafficking in drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) have arrested a Bangladeshi employee of a mosque for trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.

Armed with a search and arrest warrant, CID men armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution raided the home of the Bangladeshi in Hawalli and seized a quantity of drugs and handed over the contraband and the suspect to the General Department for Drugs Control.

Meanwhile, a source at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has denied it covers up dissent from any individual saying those who are found guilty are punished. The ministry has also said legal action has been taken against them as a deterrent to others.
