Al Habtoor holds talks with Indonesian ambassador to UAE

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group held one-on-one talks with His Excellency Husin Bagis, Indonesian Ambassador at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Wednesday, Aug 10. It was the first meeting between the Al Habtoor Group Chairman and the Ambassador.

The Indonesian delegation included Agus Prayitno, Director of Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC) Abu Dhabi and Andi Bardiansyah, Deputy Director of IIPC. His Excellency Bagis came to discuss investment opportunities in Indonesia with Al Habtoor and invited him to visit Mandalika, Lombok which has become an attractive tourist destination in recent years. “As a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, we pride ourselves for being one of Emirates Airline’s chosen halal destinations. Currently Indonesia is the largest exporter of UAE oud.”

He added that the construction sector is very active with the majority of infrastructure investments coming from China, Japan and Korea, which includes unique projects such as the Japanese ‘SOHO’ (Small Office Home Office) concept.

Al Habtoor informed the Indonesian ambassador that Dubai is a safe haven for investors, “I support the bilateral relations between the UAE and Indonesia. Tourism, trade, transportation and real estate are all witnessing strong performance and will continue to be the main drivers of the UAE economy.” Al Habtoor also presented the His Excellency with the second edition of his best-selling autobiography, ‘Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor – The Autobiography’.
