KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: As per Cabinet's decision to suspend entry of Expats in Kuwait from Sunday skyrocketed air ticket prices as flights are flying to Kuwait with limited seats for a few days remaining where the decision will come into force.
The price of a ticket from nearby Gulf destinations was 650 dinars, but speculation rose to 720 dinars and from 1,200 up to 1,400 dinars for a ticket, which is the highest price that was sold, reports Al Rai. The sources said that the decisions to reduce and suspend the number of flights will make rise in ticket prices and may further increase with changes in reservations and the cancellation of many flights resulting in accumulation of many expats in transit countries.
Increases in ticket prices for Kuwaitis and expats are alike which will limit their ability to travel as a result of the high cost, confirmed reservations have been cancelled or rescheduled again. The sources stated that short period notice with flights flying with limited numbers of passengers have doubled the confusion of passengers who wish to return back to Kuwait.
