68 arrested for traffic violations – 2 expats to be deported

KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Traffic sector issued 31,576 violations, impounded 1,033 vehicles and referred 68 people to custody for various violations, and two expatriates to deportation for driving without license in campaigns conducted across the country from July 2-8, reports Al-Seyassah/ Arab Times daily. Public Relations and Security Media Department urged road users to abide by traffic rules and regulations. It confirmed continuation of its media awareness campaign.

Drug peddlers held: Police have arrested a Sri Lankan couple and an Egyptian man for possessing and trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said a Farwaniya police patrol on routine duty in Al- Riq’ei saw a motorist talking to a Sri Lankan couple and the duo escaped on foot when they saw the police car. Police then seized the motorist (Egyptian) and seized from him meth, hashish, heroin and some money. Police also chased the Sri Lankans, arrested them and referred the trio to the General Department for Drugs Control
