KUWAIT CITY, Nov 20: The Council of Ministers assigned the concerned authorities to complete the  legal aspects and detailed procedures for the return of domestic workers to Kuwait from 34 banned countries. Around 80,000 domestic workers are expected to return back to Kuwait in 4-5 months.


The plan for return of domestic workers to Kuwait is around 600 workers on two trips per day with strict health procedures to be conducted before arrival to Kuwait, after arrival and after spending institutional quarantine period. 

Regarding the health measures taken, the source stated that the initial mechanism presented in the plan is that the worker's pcr examination to be done before coming to Kuwait, and then examined upon arrival by the medical and technical staff at Kuwait International Airport, after a week spent in quarantine PCR test to be conducted, report Al Qabas. The source stated that the competent authorities have coordinated with the Hotels Association to discuss their readiness to allocate some hotels and buildings for domestic workers as institutional quarantine.

The source stated that all the presented scenarios were not given final approval and are still being discussed in the relevant committees.
