KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Farwaniya securitymen arrested 16 Pakistanis for gambling inside an apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen, after receiving information about the gambling activities and conducting investigations to confirm the information, obtained a warrant from the Public Prosecution and raided the apartment to catch 16 Pakistanis in the act. They seized the gambling tools including playing cards and KD 800 cash. Reportedly, the suspects included traders, contractors and drivers. They have been referred to the concerned authorities in preparation for their deportation.

Wanted man’s kin attack securitymen: A wanted Bedoun man was arrested along with a number of his family members who tried to resist securitymen and help the convict escape, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, two Mubarak Al-Kabeer police officers, armed with a search-and-arrest warrant, raided the house of the Bedoun resident, who is wanted by law for criminal cases. When they arrested him, 11 members of his family started attacking them with weapons and sharp objects. They immediately requested for dispatch of backup force. The family members detained the two police officers and helped the Bedoun suspect to escape. Meanwhile, a patrol team was dispatched to the location and the officers managed to arrest the Bedoun escapee. The Bedoun and some of the attackers were arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him. Securitymen have launched investigations to find the rest of the attackers. The two injured police officers were referred to Jahra Hospital for treatment.

Young citizen attacked, cash, cellphone stolen: Four young men assaulted a young Kuwaiti citizen and stole his mobile phone and KD 500 cash in his possession, reports Al- Rai daily. The victim lodged a complaint at Sulaibiya Police Station, explaining to securitymen that he saw four young men standing near a vehicle. When he realized their vehicle had a mechanical problem, he offered to help. However, he was shocked when the four suspects attacked him and stole KD 500 cash and his mobile phone before driving away. Using the information provided by the victim, securitymen have launched investigations to find and arrest the four suspects.
