11 Arrested with 663 liquor bottles and 2,250 psychotropic pills

KUWAIT CITY, June 18: In an ongoing effort to combat the harmful effects of narcotics and psychotropic substances and apprehend those involved in their distribution and smuggling, the Ministry of the Interior has achieved significant success. The Criminal Security Sector, specifically the General Department for Narcotics Control, successfully apprehended 11 individuals who were found in possession of 2,250 pills of psychotropic substances, 663 bottles of imported liquor, and half a kilo of narcotic substances.

Upon questioning, the suspects admitted their ownership of the seized items and confessed that they intended to traffic and abuse them. Consequently, both the individuals and the confiscated items were handed over to the appropriate authorities to initiate the necessary legal procedures against them.

The General Administration of Security Relations and Media emphasizes the unwavering commitment of security personnel in safeguarding society from the dangers of drugs and vigorously combating those who peddle these harmful substances, particularly when targeting the youth. It underscores the importance of collective efforts to eliminate drug dealers and promoters.

Meanwhile an Asian expat was arrested with 602 bottles of locally produced alcohol in the Mahboula region. He and the seized items were transferred to the competent authority to take the necessary legal measures against him.

The administration urges everyone to cooperate with security personnel by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the emergency hotline at (112) or the General Department for Drug Control at (1884141). By working together, we can create a safer environment and protect our communities from the detrimental effects of drugs.
