Work in MEW will continue despite Cabinet’s measures

KUWAIT CITY, March 15: Regarding the preventive measures taken by the Cabinet to suspend work in all public circles to limit the outbreak of coronavirus, Ministry of Electricity and Water has affirmed that work in all its departments and vital utilities such as power stations, control centers and emergency centers will continue, reports Al-Anba daily.

Director of Public Relations Department of the ministry Engr Eqbal Al-Tayyar said the work in all power stations and water installations is ongoing as usual based on the keenness to continue with the energy production for meeting the country’s energy needs.

Meanwhile, The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company announced the company assures Kuwaitis and residents that a decision has been issued to raise the production of bakeries and other products during the current period to face any food shortage during the current time, reports Al-Anba daily.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mishref Cooperative Society, Abdul Rahman Al-Qadiri said the company will increase the production of all items it provides to citizens and residents, to meet the needs of the market without interruption and called on all consumers not to worry and not to ‘go panic buying’.

He added the other strategic foodstuffs whose distribution the company supervises will be available in large quantities during the current period without shortage or interruption, stressing that providing cooperative societies with items such as bread is continuous and there is no fear of any shortage in any of the products.
