KUWAIT CITY, March 26: Two Asian expatriates died and fi ve others sustained injuries when three cars and a heavy vehicle collided Saturday noon on Sixth Ring Road. According to a press statement issued by Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), when the Control Room of KFSD received information about a huge traffic accident on Sixth Ring Road opposite Saad Al-Abdullah City, firefighters from Jahra Industrial Area Fire Station led by Lieutenant Fahad Nayef Al-Enezi rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics. Firefighters rescued the trapped victims from the wrecked vehicles to discover two of them had succumbed to severe injuries.

Their corpses were referred to the Forensics Department while paramedics referred the remaining five victims who were injured to the nearest hospital for treatment. Securitymen launched investigations in this regard.

KD 10,000 swindled: Police have arrested a bedoun for impersonating a businessman from a Gulf State and swindling people, reports Al-Shahed daily. A security source said the arrest came after a Kuwaiti woman filed a complaint with the Nugra Police Station accusing the man of taking KD 10,000 from her to open a business and then doing the disappearing trick. When police armed with a search and arrest warrant raided the man’s home in Andalus, they discovered he was a bedoun and not a businessman.

Landmine found: A landmine, believed to be part of the remnants of the ordnances left behind by the Iraqi army in 1990, was found in Mutla area. When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received a call from an individual who said he found a strange object in Mutla area, securitymen rushed to the location and examined it to discover it is a live landmine. Officers from Explosives Disposal Unit rushed to the location and dealt with the landmine without resulting in any injuries. They checked the surrounding areas but did not find any other landmines.

Unlicensed gun seized: The Deputy Director of the Directorate General of Weapons Investigation has handed over an unidentified Kuwaiti to the Public Prosecution for possessing an unlicensed gun and ammunition, reports Al-Anba daily.
