Trademark proceeds reach KD 3.6m for 55,291 transactions at end of ‘18

KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently released statistics, a copy of which has been received by Al-Anba daily, which revealed that fees collected through trademarks and patents transactions at the end of 2018 totaled KD 3.6 million for 55,291 transactions, reports the daily.

The main revenues of the Trademark and Patent Administration came from trademark registration and certification – 6,079 certificates for a total fee of KD 1.4 million; followed by trademark renewal of 3,239 transactions whose fees totaled KD 858,000; and then requests for registration of trademark – 10,436 transactions for KD 469,000 Trademark and patent management is concerned with the execution of several transactions including trademark application, trademark examination, trademark publication, trademark registration and certificate issuance, trademark registration and control mark application, and trademark renewal request within six months
