UNIMONI Exchange register 2-week successive victory

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: Thanks God I Am Filipino (TGIF) Strikers continued its winning streak edging Lolo’s Strikers 2,747-2,664 while Al Qwassem ricocheted from a embarrassing defeat the past week and registered a devastating victory over SKARZ 2,895-2,459 and Green Apple Strikers halted its 2-week losing slide in the fifth week of the Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait Tenpin Bowling Tournament dubbed 2018 Elite Challenge Cup being held at COZMO Entertainment and Bowling Center in Kheifan. The other team that posted victory was UNIMONI Exchange while COZMO Lane Masters played bye.

TGIF Strikers shrugged off the continued absence of its slot man Camilo Baker to stretch its winning streak into four when they repulsed the past Lolo’s Strikers in the first and second game 958-890, 890-843 encounter and lost the third match 874-931. Al Qwassem All Stars bounced back from a disappointing defeat from last week, sweeping the 3-game series with nostalgic big win over cellar dweller SKARZ 2895-2459. Following the hibernation of Al Qwassem team captain Fadel who displayed his deadly form dominated the competition that scared the SKARZ team. Four games of slow start until Fadel’s return, the ‘embarrass’ Al Qassem team got revenge against the pitiful SKARZ and issued warning to all teams that they are still the same team to reckon with.

Fadel finished with 588 points, and Yousef had 538, followed by Saleh Faraj (483), Hassan Al Qassem (479) and Ali Jawli (395). With the remarkable victory Al Qwassem team now snatched the last spot in the “Magic 6” from the Swooping Eagles while SKARZ was pinned down the cellar.

Both teams fielded their underrated bowlers and handicap was almost even but the SKARZ proved superiority in the first two games 913-774, 958-840 but in the third game the Eagles retaliated and won the game 879-818.
