Tanker blast kills one person, injures 5

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: One person perished in a tanker explosion at Abdullah Port and five Asians sustained various degrees of injuries, says Public Relations and Media Department of the Interior Ministry.

The Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received information about the incident and firemen went to the scene with a team of secuirty men and paramedics, and initial investigation revealed that the tank for storing highly-inflammable material was at the parking lot when it exploded- although it was empty of fuel.

The incident claimed one life and caused injuries to five Asians who were welding the tank. Statement added the scene was evacuated by firemen before the fire was put out, and the injured people were given first aid by paramedics.
