Survey shows 70% of works postponed – Unclear reasons

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 24: A recent survey of works which is submitted to the Central Tenders Committee shows 70 percent of the works, which include the qualification of companies, charter, extension of contracts, tenders and change orders, are postponed to future meetings, reports Al-Rai daily Informed sources told the daily, the “postponing the work presented to the Board of Directors of the Committee would impede the implementation of the State’s projects related to time plans for their completion.” The Board is supposed to decide on the work presented to it within two weeks of its presentation or three weeks at the latest, so that the work does not pile up. The sources pointed out simple issues need not be postponed for unclear reasons.
