Kuwait ensures adequate stock amid concerns about shortages

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: Minister of Social, Family, and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah has stressed the importance of maintaining the aesthetic appearance of cooperative societies and the need for the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies to ensure the provision of the best services to shareholders and enhance their satisfaction and approval. In a press statement, the ministry disclosed that the minister reaffirmed this commitment during her meeting with the chairman of the union Musab Al-Mulla and his accompanying delegation, reflecting a strong interest in advancing cooperative work for the benefit of shareholders.

The meeting addressed several key topics, including challenges in the sector; such as the Kuwaitization of jobs, price control, wedding halls, strategic inventory and other obstacles affecting cooperative operations. Attendees presented proposals aimed at developing cooperative work to achieve the desired outcomes and support the shareholders’ interests. Assistant Undersecretary for the Cooperative Societies Sector Ahmed Fureij and other ministry officials were among the attendees. In a related statement, Al-Mulla confirmed the union’s role as the official coordinator with various government agencies during emergencies.

He announced that the union usually liaises with the Civil Defense Department and Kuwait Fire Force to ensure the efficiency of crisis management and emergencies. He assured that the strategic stock is sufficient, alleviating concerns about shortages. He stated that the union and cooperative societies are fully prepared to support shelters with essential supplies for families and individuals during emergencies. He also emphasized ongoing coordination with all cooperative societies to meet individual needs effectively, ensuring streamlined delivery plans in crises
