KUWAIT CITY, Mar 17: The Attorney General Advisor Dharar Al-Asousi, confirmed that the Public Prosecution will take utmost stringent measures and will not tolerate anyone who publishes and broadcasts fake news and rumors on websites or social networking networks or through written, visual or audio media regarding the spread of coronavirus creating panic and fear among the society or weakening the state's prestige.

Al-Asousi revealed that the Public Prosecution received several reports from the Ministries of Interior and Ministry of Information against some people and websites on this matter and that it will investigate them in accordance with the provisions of the law.

The Attorney General Advisor Al-Asousi called on the media men and the owners of websites and accounts to investigate the accuracy and take the information only from official sources before publishing keeping in mind about legality of republishing.
