KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Commenting on what had been published by the daily yesterday about ‘sexual harassment in the Ministry of Information’, director of the Ministry for Youth Affairs Saud Al- Khalidi said the doors of officials in the ministry are open to receive complaints, including the office of the Minister Sheikh Salman Al-Hamoud, reports Al- Rai daily.

He added, there is also a website which has been established to receive such complaints. In a statement to the daily, Khalidi said “I have never met any female employees and I do not know anyone who sought an appointment to meet with me, it did not happen at all.” He was refuting allegations in the newspaper. He added the ministry refuses such practices which the employees claimed they were exposed to. However, if it is true, the ministry will punish the culprits according to the law, he said.

Campers cautioned: The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry has called on the citizens and expatriates not to camp near military facilities and oil installation, or near public roads and high-pressure overhead power cables and in places where signs are put up which read ‘Camping at this site no allowed’ for their own safety and not to expose themselves to legal accountability, says a press release issued by the ministry. Case of negligence: The parents of three children – the eldest, a nine-year-old, and two sisters – have filed a case of negligence against an unidentified private school in Mangaf, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to the mother of the children, who filed a complaint with the area police station, she dropped the children to school in the morning.

The children remained locked inside the school for nine hours because the day was declared a holiday due to heavy rains. When the mother went to collect her children, the gatekeeper said all the children have gone home and the mother thought the children’s father might have taken them home. However, to make sure she called her husband and when he denied taking the children she passed out and had to be hospitalized. One of the female relatives of the mother then forced her way into the school although the keeper objected and found the children huddled together in the sports hall.
